November 27th

7pm Castle Inland revenue

Won 3-0
The massive Casualties squad of 115 players had too much talent for Castle, and it was an easy 3-0 victory.

December 10th 1pm Arena Rushcliffe Arena

Won 3-1
The Arena team were no match for another giant squad of Casualties players. The first set was an easy Casualties victory, the second set was a whupping for Casualties as Big John came on for Arena and spanked a few big ones. Sets 3 and 4 were comfortable victories for the on-form Casualties who were always the better team. And the better looking...

Mrs Spoon award goes to Vicky who drove up from Cambridge to star in the game, but forgot we play over a men's height net...
Welcome to George the crazy Ozzy lass who is a welcome addition the the squad. Just don't steal balls off her or you will die... :-)

February 5th 7:30 Castle Inland revenue

Won 3-1
The unstoppable mighty Casualties machine marched on to a 3rd straight victory. The first set was a walkover. Adam came on in the second set and we lost that one (not related?), the 3rd set was a 32-30 crowd-pleasing nailbiter which we won. Adam went off for the 4th set, so again we won that easily (not related?). The crowd went wild. Well they shuffled in their frozen seats and smiled a bit.

Mr Spoon award goes to Tim for not being able to serve all night. Or maybe I deserve it for having my 'BOOM' shot stuffed back down at my feet by a big block. George won the award for being the best setter called George.

February 18th 1pm Arena Rushcliffe Arena

Won 3-2
Well, we would have won if we'd taken the last set 15-13 instead of losing it! But it was a moral victory as Arena only had 5 players so we had to lend them a player. As it was always our best player that we lent, it weakened the Casualties side just enough to allow Arena to sneak through at the very end in a nailbiting close finish. The crowd fell silent with disappointment at the injustice of it all.

Despite playing possibly his best game ever (he got 2 hits in court) Adam also won the Mr Spoon award for serving into the net at 23-23. This week, the Best Setter Called George award went to Gudrun.

February 28th 8pm Worksop Worksop

Lost 0-2, Won 2-0
A draw I suppose. But as we were the better looking team (not including Longman), that counts as victory. Worksop had 14 players so they made two teams and we played them both (best of 3). Every set was equal and it could easily have been 4-0 either way.

Angela lost her virginity and played splendidly (despite being more nervous than an antelope being chased by a lion!) Longman won the King Spanker award fo some excellent spanking. Adam wanged some beauties to take the Biggest Wanger award and George won the Mrs Spoon award for not understanding the principal of calling 'out' balls "out" and 'in' balls "in". The Best Setter Called George award this week goes to Angela (except for the point where she forgot she was setting!). Steve was so good he shouldn't have had to buy his own drinks anyway so didn't even need to do the 'forgot my wallet' trick again...

April 1st 1pm Vandals Rushcliffe Arena Won 3-1
It was a day to remember. It started with the usual story of us playing poorly, serving in the net and looking like a team that deserved to get beat by a strong experienced Vandals side. We lost the first set and 25-18 and were 5-0 down in the 2nd when a switched flicked somewhere and the quality improved to, well... better than we can actually play! It was quite remarkable - Ashley was an extreme recovery god, George was setting beautifully and even Adam got a back court belter in when we really needed it. We ended up winning 3-1 and we left the court scratching our heads, wondering just when we had actually become that good... The Best Setter Called George award went to Gudrun who was a tireless leader. No Mr Spoon this week because everyone was gorgeous. Even Dave and Tim who were monstrous through the middle. Well done everybody.
