Casualties vs Nottingham Trent University (Home)

Set scores

25-20
25-13
25-20

The Casualties machine got back on track with an awesome performance in front of their home crowd. Superstar Jordan arrived early to get a courtside seat and meet the players before the game began. She left a very happy woman having watched Neil play the best game of his life (but everything's relative).

Team:
Belinda, James, Jess, Ian, Neil, Steve, Dave
Mick (as ref, but don't tell the other team)

Jordan came to  cheer on the Casualties

The young University squad arrived, looking like a team that shouldn't be messed with. With two of the university players over 8ft tall, Casualties were going to have to select their strongest possible team. Luckily as only six people had turned up, team selection didn't challenge Captain Neil too much...

Both teams were equally matched. The University had youth, enthusiasm and good looks on their side, but Casualties had... err... hmm... well... dunno really? They were punctual?

All three sets were very similar. Casualties were one step more organised, and rather than win the points with raw power (because they couldn't), they just played a steady game and let The University make the mistakes. Of particular note were:
Jess' first ever dig to go to the setter.
Belinda setting like she's pushing for an England place.
Neil's awesome hit down the line. (It was supposed to go cross court.)
Debutant Ian getting his wings.

Thanks to Dave (Jess' brother and kinda useful for someone who claims never to have played before) and Mick who reff'd excellently.

James smacks another one past a 3-man University block

As always, Casualties thank their sponsors.
